"MINDBEND" is an All India Inter-Collegiate Technical fest,organized by the SARDAR VALLABHBHAI NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY(NIT)- Surat, to identify and nurture the indigenous talents of the youth. Many colleges from all over the country come together on a common platform and enjoy the real spirit of engineering.With each passing year, the opulence increases and the legacy continues this year too. Here we welcome you with "MINDBEND 2011-Engineering New Frontiers", organized during 22nd-25th of february and we need your support to make the event a grand success!!!
Mindbend 2011 offers a perfect blend of technology, management, publicity and entertainment thus making it a complete package of learning,sharing and of course fun. The event aims at motivating the students from different disciplines to come together and share their enthusiasm and love for technology. The colloquium lasts for four days and there are various events,as part of both technical and non-technical,that will rock the stage. Moreover the expected footfall is more than 30,000 and total prizes worth 1 million (Rs.1000000).
Mindbend 2011 hosts about 25 events under 6 different categories named Robotix, Melange, Potpourri, Video vision, EI conferencia and School Events besides the four big mega events comprising of Lords of Gravity, Mind Illusionist, Mega quiz and Panel Discussion thus mesmerizing the spectators.

Eye catching events of MINDBEND 2011:
Mega events:
1)Lords of Gravity-A spectacular slam dunk show performed by a group of six hungarians.This would be the first time India would experience such a show.
2)Mind Illusionist-A performance by Nigel Mead,a swiss illutionist using technology to perform optical miracles.
3)Mega quiz-A national level quiz competition conducted by renowned quiz master O'Brien,will provide a platform for all the quiz lovers to exercise their might.
4)Panel Discussion-A panel discussion by eminent youth personalities on "Youth and contribution towards National Development" would be telecast on NDTV Profit.
Technical and non-technical events:there are many events to be conducted and their main aim is to develop and organising qualities, teamwork spirit and management skills and to provide a technical exposure to student community at large from various engineering colleges & foster a community spirit.
Under this category we have about 25 events on a whole being conducted.

10)Lectures and Workshops: Lectures by Proffesor Uday Kumar, designer of the Rupee symbol, on design and technology; Dr Atul Gurtu, a researcher at TIFR and ex-scientist from cern, on particle physics; and Kartik Mistry on debian OS.
11)Art and Photography:A national level exhibition and many competitions like the photoessay and wall painting judged by the head of the leading photography institute in the country besides a short film making competition.
