Event: Conscientia 2011

Organised by:
Indian Institute of Space science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram

Key dates:

Fest dates: 3rd-6th March 2011
Last date:

Details:

Ever wondered why things fall downwards? Yes, back in school, when you first heard of Newton, and gravity. And have you ever wondered why there are 12 notes to an octave of music? Or why the night sky is dark? When we were young, our one favourite question was WHY? As we grow up, we shelve our curiosity, and accept what we are told without many questions. For all with a passion for science, Conscientia 2011 will  reawaken your greatest weapon to learn - curiosity.

Here you shall see competitions made to find the diamonds in the rough and polish them to superlative brilliance. You will build things with your own hands. Learn how they work, and why they work the way they do. Or sometimes why they did not work the way they were supposed to.

Here you shall find all sorts of things that take up your time, from balloons to robots, debugging to sci-fi writing, mechanics to stargazing.
Here you shall be subjected to questions at the speed of light. Solve mad puzzles. Create smart solutions for tough problems. Count stars. Question laws that have been taken for granted; defy resistance and make circuits.
Defy probability and win.

And no matter what you came with, you will leave Conscientia with Knowledge.
The best of its kind, because you found out the answers yourself.
